These photographs document my first years in New York City. In the first month, I found myself a group of five close lesbian friends. As we got older we created a large and dynamic queer network. We are close. We grew up together. We fell in love for the first time; got our hearts broken for the first time; lived on our own for the first time; got our first real jobs and fell in love again. In the first few months of our friendship I began to photograph our lives. We were incredibly lucky; our circumstance allowed us more autonomy and acceptance than most young queer people. Here are some photographs from that time.
